Since UNLIGHT was founded in October 1997, the band from the Black Forest Region in southern Germany has earned itself a place at the top of the underground with countless live shows/tours and internationally top rated releases. After the last two European Tours in 2018 and 2019 headlined by Marduk and some more live shows after the Cov19 lockdowns, the band was forced to take a break.
As many times before the band repeatedly had to overcome hurdles such as several line-up changes – the last one in 2022 when 50% of the band members left the band due to internal personal disagreements. Further severe misfortunes like when the band´s drummer almost died in the same year brought the band close to its break up.Now, however, Unlight is back with new and strong material oriented towards the band’s original roots: Highly Thrash influenced Black Metal with plenty of variety and cross-genre songwriting. In addition to their 90ies Thrash Metal roots Unlightbrings much more than just that but always born from the diversity of Heavy Metal.
